Officers from Northampton Borough Council wish to speak with these two individuals who were seen dumping rubbish into our Semilong Northampton community.

Please remember, flytipping is a criminal offence with a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison or an unlimited fine !!

When seen we will publish photographs and videos of flytippers disposing of their rubbish on the streets of our community.

Our aim is to stop our Semilong Northampton neighbourhood looking like a rubbish tip.

This LITTER LOUT casually threw his litter on the ground with no regard to the people who live, work or pass through Semilong Northampton.

Litter is a permanent problem in our neighbourhood and despite it costing thousands to clear up, some people think it is still alright to throw there litter on the ground.

Our aim is to make these litter louts think twice about using Semilong Northampton streets as a litter bin and to reduce the amount of litter that our residents have to put up with.

As this map of reported crime shows, our Semilong Northampton neighbourhood is a crime hotspot, with the crime rate figures never falling below the HIGH mark.

Our aim is to help to reduce that figure by highlighting the publiscised crime in our neighbourhood.

We will also support the Semilong Neighbourhood Watch Scheme.

Community Repairs In Semilong Northampton

Community repairs are those which affect several residents rather than just one. The responsibility for the community repair usually falls to either Northamptonshire County Council or Northampton Borough Council.

Some examples of community repairs..

Faulty street lights (NCC)
Drain covers missing (NCC)
Security doors of multi-occupancy dwellings broken (NBC)
Damaged street furniture (NBC/NCC)
Fence paneling round multi-occupancy dwellings broken.

Why Give These A High Priority?

As these affect several residents they have the capacity not only to affect people's perception of the whole area...which can set the scene of crime and anti-social behaviour, but it can affect quality of life by increasing resident's fear of crime.

Northampton Borough Council say..

They do not give community repairs a higher priority and will only do so if Northamptonshire Police from the Local Safer Community Team contact them and ask them to carry out a repair.

For this reason, community repairs as well as being reported to Northampton Borough Council / Northamptonshire County Council, should also be reported to Northamptonshire Police Safer Community Team with the request that they contact the council about the repair too.

We, as a community together, can make a difference.
