From approximately 9pm on the 20th July 2009, many Semilong Northampton residents gathered at Miller's Meadow on St. Andrews Road in Semilong Northampton, to watch the fire just across the river, at Alpha Pallets in Martin's Yard, off Spencer Bridge Road.
This huge blaze, which is now believed to be arson, took over two hours to bring under control and had over seventy fire fighters tackling it.
Alpha Pallets, a local business, suffered the loss of over 30,000 pallets in the blaze which also caused train services to be suspended as well as the closure of local roads.
SEMILONG.ORG attended the scene and recorded high definition video.
